When it rains, it pours
Ok, so we have our match in Texas. 17 y/o BM with no prenatal until this Friday, but says no drugs or alcohol and is carrying small. BF is not in the picture and is willing to sign TPR.
Got a call from the agency today, because they wanted to let us know of another situation, and haven't gotten the paperwork from Texas, so we are technically still being shown.
Anyway... they have a BM in Reno (4 hours from us and 1 hour from where we are now) and she is pregnant with boy/girl twins and loved our profile. She is married and has other kids. She also has viral meningitis, and may want more contact than we are comfortable with. We don't want to co-parent.
We are torn. My gut says to stick with Baby Tex, but to find out what the doctor says on Friday before we make a final decision.

Awesome! Hmm! The things I would consider are health history, length of match and expectant mom expenses.
Okay... my gut too says to stay with Tex. One snag is that the BM is not an adult, unless you're considered an adult prior to the age of 18. You might want to ask how that affects things.
Re b/g twins - she's married and doing this, what does the husband think? And meningitis may be the reason she wants to adopt the children out. Just a thought.
Also, remember the rule of thumb in adoption - if you're not comfortable, don't do it.
Hoping for a rainbow after this downpour,
Allie
Follow your heart (easy to say on this end...)!
You might check into the adoption laws in Nevada and Texas too...one might favor adoptive parents more than the other.
What a wonderful problem to have!!!!
i think it would be awesome to have twins, and them being that close would really help cut costs but I to would be very unwilling to co-parent! I dont understand what the meningitus would have to do with her giving the babies up, it must be caused by an underlying issue that she hasnt disclosed because viral meningitus is usually harmless.
you guys will be lead in the right direction!
